Why should I wear eye protection when handeling a cryovial that was stored in liquid nitrogen?
BEWARE: ALWAYS WEAR PROTECTIVE EYEWEAR WHEN HANDLING CRYOVIALS STORED IN LIQUID NITROGEN
There is always a potential of bursting, so it is recommended that when the cryovial is removed from liquid nitrogen, it is left standing at room temperature for approximately 30 seconds to allow the liquid nitrogen to dissipate from the vial.
